In collaboration with the Greek company A. Alexopoulos – N. Loukatos & Associates, ARCADIS has formed an international planning group and is drafting the plans for the construction of the T8 road tunnel. The tunnel is part of the 680km-long Egnatia Odos motorway, currently one of Greece’s largest infrastructure projects.
This motorway cuts across the entire northern region of Greece and extends from the Ionian Sea close to the Albanian coast right through to the Aegean Sea on the Turkish border. Numerous tunnel and bridge constructions are being built along the route. This project, estimated at a total cost of 1.5 billion, is being financed by the Greek state and funding from the European Union.
Commissioned by Egnatia Odos A.E., the planning group is performing/has performed the following services:- Supplementary ground investigation, including ground investigation report and technical building report for tunnel
- Planning of the tunnel's advance
- Executive planning for the tunnel construction, the incision areas and works buildings.
- Consulting services accompanying the building work
